Adoption and Artificial Insemination
Has anybody on these boards had children via adoption or artificial insemination?
What was your experience? Did you meet the biological parent(s)?

RE: Adoption and Artificial Insemination
My cousin is a lesbian so she preferred to legally adopt an adorable child, she's 4 years old now. Everyone in the family knows she's adopted but we don't really talk about it in front of the child.

RE: Adoption and Artificial Insemination
I can't speak as a parent, but I can speak as an adopted child.
I was adopted as a newborn (10 days old) and 3 years ago I found my biological family. It was an...experience..to say the least. I'm very open talking about it if anyone is curious.

RE: Adoption and Artificial Insemination
Oh, I'd like to add that my parents never kept my adoption from me. I've seen that happen and I don't particularly agree with it. I never felt bad for being adopted. It was just a fact of life. My parents are my parents no matter what. DNA doesn't make a mom. (or dad for that matter)
