Although many of us have SOME ideas, we don't all fit into the "feminist" category. Do you think you could be considered feminist? Why? Why not?

Unfortunately word 'feminist' has been misrepresented for so long that it is difficult to apply this term to oneself now..
The original meaning of it was a person wanting the same rights for women as the men have. According to this definition, yes, I am a feminist.

I know that over the time feminism started being seen as something "negative" or at least "extremist". I support all women's right to be equal to men, or at least not be consider inferior. I don't like the extremes either.

Yes, I'm a feminist. Under the definition that we have above, I don't think I could be friends with anyone, or date any man, who wasn't also a feminist.

well, then i guess i am a feminist, too... if that is the real definition of feminism...
women are already playing an important part of society, i mean there are business women all over the world (almost,...except for those countryes where women can't even show their faces in public ...), they are very smart and can handle difficult situations and i think they are sometimes even better than men. A woman can handle both her carreer AND housework&babies, while men can only take responsability for their jobs/careers...
