When you cook: do you measure or guess the quantities?

Some women guess the quantities, others need measurements so that they won't ruin dinner ... what's your case?

if its a tried and true recipe that I have been using for years I wing it but if it is a new recipe I will always measure the ingredients. I don't want to mess it up

I am not much of a cook , so figure there is no point changing now I throw anything and everything in , just open the pantry doors and what ever I spot first goes in (some meals have actually been edible) I never measure but then I never use a recipe and i never bake , not good for you any how

when baking cakes, or choux pastry or something like that, i always measure, but for pancakes or rice or curry or whatever, these i guess..

so, whatever i am used to cook, i guess, for new recipes, i measure.
