Is there a job one should be ashamed of?

Some say there are jobs one should be ashamed of, others say NO job is a reason to be ashamed since that person is WORKING.

What are your views about this? How does YOUR society view this?

When I first went out with my partner he was a rubbish collector, and being only 17, he was on a really high wage, but he still copped flak over it, but was earning more than his friends. I must admitt, I was a little reluctant to tell what he did. He ended up quitting once some other company took over an wanted to pay everyone lower wages. But that was the views of a silly teenager, now.. as lng as you are working and honest job, no matter what it is, I think.. good on you! Afterall, a job is what you do, not who you are.

you are perfectly right!

it is better to have a low job than to stay all day long begging..
there are beggars all over the world, and people give them money because they feel sorry for them, but in my opinion,i think most of them CAN work, and if not, they should not take the money of the ones that earn them fair! and by the way, they make a lot more money a day than a decent worker...they are just lazy people that only deserve a kick in their buts..! :!:

I think someone should only be ashamed of their job if it's something that they've been forced into doing, this could range from prostituion to management of a company, and if in being forced into doing it, they've had to let go of their morals or beliefs. But I don't think that there's any one job that is a universal stigma - everyone had their own opinion and experience and it's not for anyone else to judge those.

I gave it a thought, and i reached the conclusion that i am at a very good university, the best in my country, and i think i would be ashamed if i ended up with a low paying job, or something that even a person with no school can do.
I don't look down at people, i would never do that, but i am speaking only for myself. I do not wish to finish this school and end up working for little money after all the hard effort i made smilie

That depends on the perception of the individual

This is valid for all jobs: Your jobs consists in respond a need of somebody, who pays you for the service you give him/her.

So all jobs are equal: There are no inferior jobs!
